PJs is located in downtown Boca Grande. I had the crab cake served on greens and they were delicious. Several in our arty ad the crab meat bisque and they were not thrilled with it. The Cuban sandwich was good and the tacos were good. Service was great!

Hadn't read reviews, so had no expectations. I had one of the night's specials, my wife had a half dinner, my son had had a grilled cheese sandwich and my nephew had a salad and fish fingers from the kid's menu...no alcohol...total bill was over $100. The sides with my dinner were not hot, and I agree with another review that the cheesy grits were not good, really no taste at all. I suspect much of what you are paying for is the ambience. If that is the case, make sure you get a reservation so they don't sit you upstairs. There is no ambience up there.

Have had the pleasure of being able to sit outside weather wise ! Everyone at the table enjoyed their lunch selections. My family especially enjoys their version of the cuban sandwich and my crab cake was a different version that what I've had in other restaurants. It was quite tasty and delish!

Great fresh fish. Love the black beans and rice! Nice outdoor space, too. Service is friendly. Casual, though at times you'll see sport coats - mostly among the older clientele. Love this place - it is a must do on Boca Grande!

Friendly staff, delicious food. The pompano is a must-order item, along with the side of black beans and rice topped with fresh salsa. Reservations are a must during any vacation period.

The island of Boca Grande is not (nor should it be) known for its seafood. I understand this intellectually, but it's hard to come to terms with emotionally, especially since it's some kind of tropical paradise where it's always 75 degrees, the sea is an alarming shade of aquamarine, and there is no crime. Burgers are great and all, but when everything around you smells like sea salt, all you can think about is cracking open a lobster or six and distracting yourself from the grim fact that the horrible sunburn you picked up is going to give you skin cancer one day. Alas, PJ's Sea Grille disappoints even the most dizzyingly low of expectations. We had the fish tacos, grouper, and a fried oyster platter. The tacos were decent, the grouper was under-seasoned and over-cooked (better than the alternative I suppose) and the oysters were kind of a soggy mess. Sit on the patio if you can. Service was attentive. Cost too much for too little.

The Seagrille has some solid seafood options on it's menu. I've always gotten the tuna which is really well cooked and comes with multiple sauces. Their housemade duck spring rolls were also a pleasant surprise. Service is fantastic and friendly. But what really takes the cake is their dessert. We ordered the banana split ice cream pie and it is definitely one of the BEST DESSERTS I HAVE EVER HAD! and I. LOVE. DESSERT. Oreo crust, layer of banana, strawberry ice cream, vanilla ice cream, fudge, topped with whipped cream and coconut shavings. Holy hell this was AMAZING!!! And they don't serve you an overly large serving so you are sick of it. It is the perfect size that leaves the perfect impression. It was such a creative dessert that has all the flavors of banana split in a wonderful pie package! I hope to come back here every year just for the dessert :)

While the ambiance isn't the most elegant, it will not matter, as the seafood in this restaurant will rock your world. This is a must visit place in Boca Grande

Cheese grits were horrible. Service was good. Better food elsewhere for sure.

This restaurant is a go-to place every time my family and I visit Boca Grande. We have been visiting for many years, most often during the winter holidays and in the springtime (coincidentally when the island is the most crowded). However, P.J.'s never seems to disappoint. Since we come here quite often, yet this is my first review, I'm going to offer more of a holistic approach that incorporates many of our trips, my thoughts on the restaurant as a whole and the dishes we have tried. When we come here, we are often greeted by lovely servers--one of who, named Lynn, is incredibly kind and accommodating. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also calming. It appears somewhat casual, but patrons will be dressed at times in khakis and suit coats or jeans and a nice Floridian top. The gem of the restaurant, however, is the fish tank. One long table is placed directly in front of the tank, which features a number of colorful and lively fish. It is not only a conversation piece but also a joy to observe during a long, island dinner, so if you make reservations, it's worth requesting to see if the table is available. There are many dishes that I have tried and many that I come back for again and again. To start with, their crab bisque soup is the best I've had on the island. It's creamy and smooth, but full of delicious crabmeat! The caprese salad is also a favorite starter for my family. The mozzarella and tomatoes are always incredibly fresh and remain a crowd pleaser for our group. Entrée options here are also quite varied, as one may see traditional Floridian fare, while other dishes have a more Asian inspired twist, such as their pad thai (though this is not one of their strongest dishes). However, one of the favorite dishes is the ahi tuna. It is a thick tuna steak, served to your specifications (though I order it just barely seared), surrounded by 4 different sauces, which are spread out in an artistic fashion on the plate. Though I am not aware of what is in these sauces, many of them are delicious and the servers are happy to bring out more of any of the sauces that strike your fancy. Finally, another favorite dish is the coconut shrimp--crispy, flaky, and fabulous. My only sadness about their food is usually related to the side dishes offered. They always have a choice of grits, or rice and beans. Since I am not a lover of grits, I loose one option instantly, and rice and beans just doesn't seem to go with so many other dishes, though my mother often orders them and seems to enjoy them. They also usually have a potato option, varying by night, and a vegetable of some sort. I've had some lovely vegetables and I've had some not so lovely vegetables here. However, they will tell you what the vegetable is for the day and if it is not to your liking, you can always double up on the potatoes, rice and beans, or grits. Overall Pros: Atmosphere (Fish Tank) Service Variation of the menu Sauces Cons: Side dish offerings

Everything was excellent at PJ's Seagrille. Our server, Sue was very nice, fun and knowledgable. We shared red snapper, lightly breaded, sautéed with lemon, white wine and garlic. The best!

One of my favorite spots on the island. You can't go wrong with ATS (All That Stuff) grouper, which is their signature dish. The lobster crab bisque is also very good with delicious lumps of crab meat and a nice creamy sauce. The service can be hit or miss when it's busy but the heavy poured martinis and fun tropical fish tank make up for it!

We were hankering for some seafood, which is REALLY lacking on the island for some reason... so we came here. We had the fish tacos, fish of the day (grouper), and fried oyster platter. Underwhelming. Grouper was overcooked and a tiny portion too... we joked that maybe they put the other half of my dish in the fish tacos. Oysters were good but not fried crispy enough. Fries were excellent though. Service was nice. Patio seating OF COURSE. Prices are decent but still not worth it for overcooked fish.

Excellent service and seafood. First time I tried pompano and it was fantastic. We go for the great entertainment. Charlie is awesome.

Excellent and colorful food. Definitely a "Southern Living" place. Wife's Shrimp salad was outstanding. I had the Cuban sandwich that was also exceptional. Great menu with lots of variety. Good prices.

So this was our first restaurant dining experience on our family vacation in boca grande. My parents, my sister and I started our meal with warm bread and a nice shared bowl of tomato crab soup. This was actually above average...not much meat but tasty. Then came our entrees. Dad got the $40 snapper key west style that was a bit fishy and average. Mom got the $32 crab cakes which were lacking much taste aided somewhat by the dipping sauces that came with it. Sister got $40 Tripletail special that was moist and fresh tasting but smothered with butter and breading. I got the $40 seared tuna which was fresh and generously portioned. We topped off the meal with a shared brownie sundae a la mode which was average and coffee which was a tad watery. In general an average meal that would have been just fine had the prices been more reasonable. Recommend: crab tomato soup, seared tuna Not recommend: breaded or buttered fish specials, crab cakes

Great place. Recommend the ahi tuna served rare and the grouper key west or blackened style.

PJ's is one of the nicer places on Gasparilla and the prices reflect that. We had dinner outside which was nice (upstairs isn't great). I had the grouper which was good, but not sizable, and expensive ($40). Sides of beans and rice were good. Dinner was double the cost at Miller's. While the atmosphere was more sophisticated, the food wasn't significantly better. Still, it's one of our top spots on the island.

Boca Grande is such a unique vacation spot for many people of all ages, living here we are spoiled with a life style that many will never experience. From riding around on golf carts to watching breathtaking sunsets each evening this island does NOT lack amazing food. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable! We always have amazing service each time we visit. We have eaten almost every single item on the menu for both lunch and dinner, and have never once been disappointed. Also make sure you listen to any possible specials that day. Great spot for special occasions and gatherings as well. Be sure to check out the great bar area located in the back behind the fish tank! You will not be disappointed with your experience here. Enjoy!

We ate here twice last week, and both times the food was good - but not great. Service was very good, and atmosphere is nice enough.
